The friendship came first.

My introduction to coffee began in Ghana. I was there already, and a friend and I decided to explore a coffee venture together. I was his “boots on the ground.” He joined me once we decided to move forward.

I knew nothing about coffee. He taught me how to cup it, what to look for in flavor notes and how to use the palate I’d developed as a chef. He gave me the confidence to trust what I was tasting.

We visited a plantation and explored grading and roasting. At one point, we were experimenting with a popcorn popper.

The idea of building a coffee company of my own grew from that experience. That same friend is behind the Forza coffees we offer today.

SunForge Coffee offers our own blends alongside Forza Coffee as an authorized U.S. distributor. Our coffee is roasted and packed in Canada.

Sun gives. Fire makes.

Sun comes from my wife’s name. Forge comes from mine: a smith’s work. The name holds both of us.

The homepage kitchen scene is an AI interpretation of my childhood home, inspired by my wife’s interaction with my father.
